The second most popular beverage on earth and you still don’t trust tea?!
Yes, some of us are warming up to the idea of tea being a healthier drink, but do we really know what’s exactly brewing inside that kettle? Also, the tea myths and misconceptions surrounding it do not help. So, here we raise our cup to killing all the tea myths by answering common tea queries.
Here we go!
Does tea make the skin turn darker?
Absolutely not! Tea has no such ingredient that can darken your skin color. In fact, multiple researches over time have proved that tea is rich in antioxidants and ‘white tea’ actually reduces wrinkles!
Is tea bad for the teeth?
Wrong again! Tea is a natural source of fluoride that prevents the teeth from decay? It also strengthens the teeth enamel. With all the food intake through the day and sugar being an important part of it, tea fights the acids in the mouth and reduces its formation. Tea is friends with your teeth!
Does tea cause acidity?
This is so wrong! How can tea cause acidity when it in itself is an alkaline? Moreover, black tea and its variations have properties that can reduce risks of ulcer, thanks to the water content in it. Trust tea- it doesn't hurt.
Boil tea for a better brew?
Ohh don’t spoil that perfectly good cuppa, please! Tea is not supposed to be boiled. Over-cooking (boiling) makes it bitter and then, like every beverage done wrong, it may cause acidity. Here is the deal- you gotta brew (steep) tea in hot water and not boil it. Every tea has different brewing methods that bring out the best of the flavors.
Does tea affect sleep?
In fact, just the opposite. Researches have actually proved that due to the presence of amino acid in tea, it influences your sleep positively. A warm cup of tea just before bed may help you sleep better.
Can’t drink tea regularly, no?
Why not? Recent studies show that tea reduces risk of Alzheimer's, heart diseases and diabetes, thanks to the presence of flavonoid in it. So, go ahead and grab that cup to get your daily dose of tea!
So, the next time someone offers you more tea, say Aye!
